Justification
This Northern Swartland endemic has lost over 80% of its habitat to crop cultivation over the past 120 years. There are only three remaining lowland locations where this species occurs and fewer than 250 mature individuals are extant.

Description
Granite and clay on lowland slopes in renosterveld.
Threats
Only three locations remain after more than 80% of this species' habitat has been converted to crop fields. Two subpopulations are protected, one in a private and the other in a provincial nature reserve, and the third is on a privately owned farm where habitat loss to agricultural expansion is ongoing.
Population

About 100 plants is protected in a private nature reserve, and a few more occur in a nearby provincial nature reserve. A third subpopulation of between 100 and 200 plants occur on a privately owned farm near Wolseley.
