Justification
Watsonia versfeldii is a range-restricted species, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 716 km². It is known from only a few, scattered subpopulations, but it has no severe threats and is not suspected to be in danger of extinction. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Description
It occurs on open, stony slopes and plateaus.
Threats
A very small proportion (11%) of this species' habitat has been historically lost to agricultural expansion (mainly fruit orchards) on the Piketberg, but land cover data show no significant ongoing habitat loss. Recent field observations indicate no severe threats.

Watsonia versfeldii is a rare species occurring in small subpopulations (Goldblatt 1989).
