Justification
Watsonia wilmsii is a range-restricted, but locally common species known from 15-20 locations. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 812 km², and has lost habitat to timber plantations in the past, but its remaining habitat is now protected, and it is no longer declining. It is listed as Least Concern.

This species is endemic to South Africa, and is found in Mpumalanga Drakensberg escarpment east of Lydenburg.

Description
It is found on rocky slopes in montane grassland above 1500 m.
Threats
Historically, Watsonia wilmsii has lost about 40% of its habitat to timber plantations. Six locations known through historical records are now locally extinct. Most of its remaining habitat is however now protected, and there is no significant ongoing habitat loss.
Population

This species is fairly common on the Mpumalanga escarpment between Lydenburg and Sabie. There is no significant ongoing population decline.
