Justification
Most of this species' remaining habitat in South Africa is protected, although there is ongoing habitat degradation in some areas of protected habitat that could potentially threaten the local population. It is still fairly common, and not yet in danger of local extinction.

Range
This species has a limited distribution in South Africa, occurring only around Mtunzini and Kosi Bay on the northern KwaZulu-Natal coast. It extends northwards through Mozambique to tropical Africa.

Description
It is localized to coastal swamp forests.
Threats
It is threatened by habitat loss and degradation outside protected areas, where there has been significant expansion of rural settlements and agriculture within its range in South Africa. There is also ongoing degradation of forests within protected areas due to natural resource extraction.
