Justification
A range-restricted endemic to the Pondoland region, rare and found in a highly restricted habitat along stream banks (AOO <20 km²). Potentially threatened by alien plant invasion.

Description
Pondoland scarp forest on sandstone, rocky banks of streams and rivers, often on islands in larger rivers.
Threats
Portions of some rivers where this species occurs are becoming choked with alien plants (Scott-Shaw 1999). Recent observations confirmed the presence of alien invasive Chromolaena odorata in the Mtentu River, which may cause declines in future if they are not managed.
