Justification
This Maputaland endemic has a restricted range, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 2686 km², and it is known from at least 13 locations. It is declining outside protected areas due to the clearing of vegetation for subsistence crop cultivation and firewood extraction. Therefore, it is listed as Near Threatened under criterion B.

Range
This species is endemic to the Maputaland, from the eastern foothills of the Lebombo Mountains to Ndumu through to Hluhluwe. It also occurs in Mozambique.

Description
