A highly localized endemic (EOO 62 km²), known from two locations, one of which was lost recently due to the development of an informal settlement.

Description
Grassland, large, exposed sheets of dolerite that receive mist from coastal plains.
Threats
Threatened by habitat loss and degradation due to close proximity to an expanding informal settlement and heavy grazing by domestic stock. One subpopulation near Umtata has been destroyed by urban expansion (Dold and Weeks 2000) .
