Justification
Recorded from seven locations in an area of 1500 km². Threatened primarily by expanding rooibos cultivation, but is also collected illegally.

Description
Confined to seasonally moist sandstone outcrops in humus-rich sandy pockets amongst sandstone rocks.
Threats
The plants growing in the Oliflants River Valley and on the Nardouwsberg are already being threatened by expanding rooibos tea cultivation. In addition, this attractive species is also potentially threatened by removal of wild plants for the horticultural industry.
