Aloe davyana is a widespread and common species that is not threatened.

Description
Rocky outcrops in grassland and bushveld.
Threats
A. davyana thrives in disturbed areas - large subpopulations are often a sign of severe overgrazing (Glen and Hardy 2000). The species is often planted on mine tailings as a soil binder (Van Wyk and Smith 2003). The leaves are used medicinally, but harvesting is generally not destructive (Van Wyk and Smith 2003).
