Justification
Ficinia praemorsa has a restricted distribution range, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 6 708 km². It is still a very common species, in spite of ongoing habitat loss and degradation, and is not yet in danger of extinction. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

This species is endemic to the coastal lowlands of the southern Cape, South Africa, where it occurs from Stanford to Hartenbos.

Description
It occurs on limestone flats and ridges near the coast.
Threats
About 20% of this species' habitat has been lost to coastal development and crop cultivation. Much of its habitat is also densely infested with alien invasive plants, which is leading to ongoing decline of native species.
Population

Ficinia praemorsa is very common, and many recent field observations indicate that it still persists at more than 10 locations.
