Justification
EOO 5520 km², a lowland species that has lost 96% of its habitat and several subpopulations to wheat cultivation, loss is continuing in many parts of its range. Remaining subpopulations are severely fragmented.

Description
Loamy soils derived from granites or coastal acid sand, often in slight seepages which are susceptible to drying out if rainfall is inadequate.
Threats
Agriculture: 96% of this species' habitat has been transformed to wheat farms and vineyards over the past 70 years. There is ongoing transformation around the Paardeberg, Paarl, Malmesbury and the Upper Breede River Valley mostly for vineyards.
