Subpopulations within the Mkambati Nature Reserve are not threatened, however, it is also likely to occur in similar habitat outside the reserve where it is potentially threatened by heavy grazing. |
Population |
A locally common species in suitable habitat, but fairly cryptic and easily overlooked. It is likely that it may occur in similar habitat outside of Mkambati Nature Reserve, but it is certainly not widespread in the Pondoland area as it has not yet been recorded in other botanically well-explored areas such as the Umtamvuna Nature Reserve.
