Justification
Known from a few collections in an area extensively transformed by agriculture, forestry and invasive alien plants. Searches in the area revealed very little pristine vegetation remains within the known range of this species and no subpopulations were found. This species is possibly extinct.

Description
Ngongoni grassland, Natal Group Sandstone, on rocky outcrops and bush clump margins, 700 m.
Threats
Transformation of its habitat by agriculture and forestry (Scott-Shaw 1999). Invasion of riparian areas and bushclumps by wattle and Chromolaena (Scott-Shaw pers. comm.).
