Description
Midlands Mistbelt Grassland, 960-976 m.
Threats
Less than 30% of this species' grassland habitat remains intact, after extensive losses predominantly to timber plantations and crop cultivation. The only known subpopulation is threatened by ongoing habitat loss to urban and agricultural expansion, as well as competition from alien invasive plants, and habitat degradation due to inappropriate fire management and livestock grazing.
Population

This species is currently known from a single subpopulation, confined to a small grassland fragment outside Highflats village. No attempts have yet been made to locate further surviving subpopulations, but with less than 30% of Midlands Mistbelt Grasslands remaining intact, it is unlikely that many more subpopulations exist, and all are likely to be restricted to small remnants and declining due to ongoing habitat loss and degradation. The subpopulation appears to be small (Glen et al. 2011).
