Justification
In South Africa, known from 12 locations, EOO 4400 km² and AOO<10 km². The total population is estimated to be around 4000-6000 individuals and two subpopulations consist of over 1000 individuals (max 1500 and 1200 individuals, respectively). There is a continuing decline due to habitat loss within Gauteng.

Grassy slopes and rock ledges, usually southern aspects.
Threats
In South Africa this species is mainly declining as a result of urban expansion in the Gauteng area. May have declined as a result of habitat transformation due to agriculture in Limpopo (status of subpopulation(s) unknown. Other minor threats include unsuitable fire regimes, erosion and trampling.
