Justification
EOO 1319 km², known from eight locations, most of which are severely threatened by ongoing habitat loss to Rooibos and potato cultivation as well as overgrazing of remnant patches between agricultural fields.

Description
Deep acid sands in sandveld.
Threats
This species is rapidly losing habitat to expanding rooibos tea and potato cultivation. In addition, habitat remnants that are not ploughed are often overstocked with livestock, leading to severe overgrazing and degradation of remaining natural veld.
Population

This species is known from a few, isolated subpopulations, nearly all occurring in small remnants. It can however be locally common. It only occurs in undisturbed areas (N.A. Helme pers. obs. 2009).
