Justification
A localized species (EOO 10 km²), known from only three collections from the southern slopes of the Riviersonderend Mountains around Greyton. It is potentially threatened by competition from alien invasive plants.

South-facing sandstone slopes.
Threats
The lower south facing slopes of the Riviersonderend Mountains are densely invaded by unmanaged invasive alien pines. They are a potential threat to this highly range-restricted species, should they spread into its habitat.
