A range-restricted species (EOO 2028 km²) that is known from four locations and declining due to ongoing habitat loss and degradation.

Description
Damp places among dunes overlooking the sea.
Threats
This species is threatened by ongoing habitat loss and degradation. Around Richard's Bay habitat loss to urban and industrial development continues, particularly around Richard's Bay Harbour. At Mtunzini it has lost habitat to timber plantations in the past, and is threatened by competition from alien invasive plants and coastal development. Around Muzi Swamp it is threatened by ongoing habitat loss and degradation due to shifting subsistence agriculture and overgrazing.
Population

This species is currently known from four locations, but may be overlooked, particularly north of Richard's Bay where its habitat is still mostly intact.
