Population |
This species is fairly common in the mountains west of Springbok. Further north it is known from only a few scattered collections. It was last recorded in the Richtersveld in 1925, and east of Steinkopf in 1883. There are many recent collections from the area west of Springbok. This species may have become rare in the Richtersveld due to overgrazing, but it is also possibly under-sampled. More surveys are needed in the northern part of its range to determine the status of the population in these areas.
