Justification
A widespread and common species. Although it is declining due to ongoing habitat loss in the southern part of its range, it is not in danger of extinction.

Margins of seasonal pools and streams.
Threats
Subpopulations on lowlands in the southern part of this species' range are threatened by habitat loss and degradation as a result of agricultural and urban expansion. Very little suitable habitat remains, and loss continues. Northern subpopulations are not threatened.
Population

This species is becoming rare on the Western Cape lowlands in the southern part of its range due to ongoing habitat loss, but further north it is still very common.
