It is also potentially threatened by illegal collection of wild plants for the succulent trade. |

This species is only known from the type, collected at an undisclosed locality in the vicinity of Steinkopf in 1993, and no other collections have yet been matched to the description. As the whereabouts of this species is unknown, it is not possible to determine its range size or population trend.
