Range
This species is widespread along the eastern escarpment of South Africa, extending from the Wolkberg in Limpopo to the Swartberg near Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape. It is widespread long the mountains of east Africa as far north as Ethiopia.

Description
It occurs on rocky slopes along forest margins, in stream gullies and near mountain tops.
Population

This species is common across its range, but subpopulations tend to be small and localized. No significant ongoing decline is suspected.
