Description
Karroid scrub, fynbos-succulent karoo ecotones on lower slopes, 260-450 m.
Threats
Potentially threatened by habitat loss to crop cultivation and grazing. The flats below the Matsikamma Mountains are periodically cultivated, and at least one historical locality has been extensively ploughed for rooibos and wheat cultivation (N.A. Helme pers. comm.). Sheep and cattle graze the lower slopes, and this species is likely to be grazed as legumes are generally very palatable.
