This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 150 km² and is known from two sites. It is not threatened as it occurs on very steep cliffs that are not invaded by alien plants. It is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1 Criteria, globally, as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare.
