Description | It occurs in hard, dry, stony red clay soils in karroid vegetation on flats, low hill slopes and in rocky outcrops. |

Population |
It is common around Calvinia and Nieuwoudtville, but rare elsewhere in its range, where it occurs as solitary individuals or in small clumps.
