Description
It occurs most often in gravelly clay or sandy soil on granite outcrops, more rarely on dunes or quartz flats in succulent karoo.
Population

This species is common in central and western Namaqualand, and in the Kamiesberg (Duncan 2012). Plants occur in large colonies.
