Justification
Lachenalia vanzyliae is a rare and range-restricted species with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 1740 km². There are no known or plausible potential threats to this species, and therefore it is not suspected to be in danger of extinction.

Description
It occurs in sandstone rock crevices or at the base of large boulders.
