Justification
Crassula alstonii is a range-restricted species, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 1 912 km². It is fairly common, and has no severe threats, and is therefore not suspected to be in danger of extinction. It is listed as Least Concern.

This species is endemic to a small area in northern Namaqualand and the southern Richtersveld in South Africa, from Lekkersing to Komaggas.

Description
It occurs on gentle slopes of low hills, usually in areas with quartzite gravel.
Threats
Crassula alstonii is threatened by habitat loss to mining at two known locations, but otherwise there are no severe threats to this species.

This species is a localized, but locally common habitat specialist.
