Justification
A widespread species occurring in most provinces of South Africa except the Western and Northern Cape. This species is widely distributed with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 345 172 km². Subpopulations are stable and although its habitat is under pressure from alien invasive plant encroachment and habitat degradation through overgrazing in some parts of its range, the species is not at risk of extinction and is therefore assessed as Least Concern.
