Justification
A range-restricted species with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 418 km². It occurs at six locations and is potentially threatened by competition from alien invasive plants in at least three of these. It is listed as Near Threatened.

Description
It occurs on streamsides and seeps on sandstone slopes.
Threats
Field observations noted alien invasive plants present in this species' habitat on the lower slopes of the Swartberg. These could potentially outcompete native species if they are not cleared. Too frequent fires have also been observed across most of this species' range.
