Justification
Most of this long-lived resprouter's habitat has been transformed for urban and agricultural development in the past 110 years (generation length >50 years) and over 50% of known subpopulations are extinct. Remaining subpopulations are small, 12 of the 18 extant subpopulations have been surveyed. Most subpopulations are small, with fewer than 50 individuals, and no subpopulation is known to have more than 25O individuals. This taxon continues to decline due to loss of habitat to crop cultivation, urban development and infestations of alien plants.

Description
Wet, peaty soil below 500 m.
Threats
More than 50% of known subpopulations are now locally extinct due to habitat loss to urban and agricultural expansion. Subpopulations are confined to small remnants of natural vegetation, which continue to be degraded due to alien plant infestations. Habitat loss to further expansion of crop cultivation and urban development is ongoing.
Population

Surveys of 12 of the 18 remaining subpopulations indicate that most are very small, consisting of fewer than 50 mature individuals, with no subpopulation having more than 250 mature individuals. The population size is estimated to be fewer than 2500 mature individuals.
