Description | Plants grow in dunes and in dune strandveld along the coast, inland it is found on gravelly slopes in succulent karoo and xeric thicket. |

This species is threatened by development in parts of the range, especially along the West Coast, around Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and East London. |

A very common species, often dominant in suitable habitat.
