Justification | EOO 360 km², total population estimated as <5000 mature individuals, based on surveys of 14 sites in the Olifants and Steelpoort River valleys. Not affected by mining or grazing, and not declining. |

Threats |
| Occurs in an area that is mainly utilized as communal rangelands, with a few old mining sites. However, this species occurs on dolomite, which is generally not affected by mining - mining sites tend to be on mineral rich norite. This large spiny shrub is also unlikely to be negatively affected by grazing and trampling. |
Population |
Most populations visited had between 200-250 individuals, with a few populations having only between 50-75 individuals.
