EOO 1200 km², known from less than 10 locations. Declining as a result of habitat destruction by expanding vineyards.

Description
Sandveld areas with deep, red Aeolian sands, on lower, loamy slopes, where it often occurs in fairly dense vegetation.
Threats
Threatened by ongoing, sporadic habitat loss to expanding cultivation of vineyards and wheat farming. Improved irrigation technology has led to extensive expansion of vineyards on deep red sands, while wheat is planted only in years of good rainfall.
