Justification
Although conserved in the Groendal wilderness area, this species may have been eradicated in areas such as Walmer, and is under continuing threat from urban expansion in the greater Port Elizabeth-Uitenhage region. EOO <600 km², known from three historical sites, at least one of which has been lost to urban development. It is not known where this parasite still persists, as it is an ephemeral, dependent on the host plant for survival, is under-collected and difficult to identify.
