This species is abundant and widespread with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 38 387 km². Although loss of habitat has occurred in parts of its range, many subpopulations in mountainous areas are protected. It does not qualify for any of the five criteria indicating high risk of extinction and is therefore assessed as Least Concern.

Description
Plants grow in mountainous areas, typically in rocky areas in open grasslands and on steep slopes.
Threats
Human settlement and crop development practices have resulted in the loss of suitable habitat for this species in some areas. Several subpopulations occur in mountainous areas less likely to be developed and utilised, as well as in protected areas.
