Justification | Serruria dodii's habitat has declined in the past due to agricultural expansion. It has a restricted range, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 1490 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 296 km². It is however currently still fairly common and is not declining. It does not yet meet or nearly meet any of the criteria for a category of threat and is listed as Least Concern. |

Description | It grows on sandstone fynbos slopes, 350-1600 m. Mature individuals are killed by fires, and only seeds survive. Seeds are released after ripening, and dispersed by ants to their underground nests, where they are protected from predation and fire. It is pollinated by insects. |
Threats |
At least 12% of the species' habitat has been lost in the past due to agriculture (vineyard cultivation), however most of the remaining subpopulations are in protected areas. There are no severe current threats to this species. |
