Justification
This species has a limited distribution range and has an extent of occurrence (EOO) and an area of occupancy (AOO) of less than 25 km². It is known from less than five locations, and the number of mature individuals is currently declining due to harvesting for the specialist succulent horticultural trade. It therefore qualifies as Endangered under criterion B.

Threats
This species was extensively exploited in the past. Mining has affected many of the Inselbergs, and a proposed zinc mine is expected to further impact this species' habitat (van Zyl, 2019). Since 2019, it has also been illegally collected for the specialist succulent horticultural trade.
Population

No population data is available for this species, but it is suspected to be in decline due to illegal collection and the loss of suitable habitat due to mining in the past.
