Known from a few collections, some of which appear to be misidentified. If this species is restricted to sandy flats and slopes, as indicated in Goldblatt & Manning (2000), then it is likely to be threatened by agriculture. Until this genus is revised and the exact range and habitat described, this species will remain Data Deficient.
