Justification
A very rare species, known from two locations, and potentially threatened by competition from alien invasive plants and overgrazing at one of these. It therefore qualifies as Vulnerable under criterion D.

Range
This species occurs in the Limpopo Drakensberg Escarpment, from the Downs southwards to the northern end of the Blyde River Canyon, Mpumalanga.

Description
Plants grow in forest margins, riverbanks and sandstone outcrops.
Threats
The subpopulation at Lekgalameetse Nature Reserve is potentially threatened by competition from alien invasive plants, as well as habitat degradation due to livestock grazing grasslands inside the reserve. The subpopulation at Blyde River Canyon is not threatened.
Population

This species is known from only two subpopulations, and is extremely rare in the wild (Otieno 2004).
