Raphionacme flanaganii is a widespread species that is threatened by ongoing habitat loss in parts of its range, but not yet in danger of extinction. It is therefore assessed as Least Concern.

Range
This species occurs from Maputaland in northern KwaZulu-Natal southwards along coastal areas to Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape. In KwaZulu-Natal it extends inland to Ladysmith. It also occurs in Kenya and Mozambique.

Description
It occurs on coastal flats and inland valleys, where it climbs over shrubs and trees in open to dense woodland, riverine forest and savanna.
Threats
About 30% of this species' habitat is irreversibly modified, due to loss to agriculture, coastal development, rural settlements and urban expansion. Loss continues.
