Justification
A range-restricted habitat specialist, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 252 km². It is known from less than 10 subpopulations. It has no severe threats and is therefore not suspected to be in danger of extinction. It qualifies for listing as Rare nationally and qualifies under the IUCN 3.1. criteria as Least Concern.

This species has a restricted distribution in the Langeberg Mountains between Swellendam and Riversdale in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

Description
It grows in damp, shady, upper south-facing sandstone slopes.
Threats
This species has no significant threats. It currently grows in undisturbed mountain fynbos but may be threatened in the future by invasive alien plants.
Population

Subpopulations are small, consisting typically of 50 plants, with one subpopulation of 100 to 250 mature individuals recorded in Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve. Eight subpopulations are known, but a few more are likely to occur on unexplored high mountain slopes. The population is not suspected to be declining.
